The Turkish soprano Ayşe Yakut Somer, born in Vienna, began her musical training at the early age of five. Over the years she developed a passion for singing, which she intensified while studying at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul.
To deepen her acting skills, she joined a theater group in 2013-2014. After and during her studies, she was often heard in new compositions and interdisciplinary events, such as in the project by Vahit Tuna, whose painting was set to music by an artificial intelligence, with Ayşe Yakut Somer taking over the vocal implementation.
She completed her bachelor's degree in 2019. She gave numerous concerts,
including at the Süreyya State Opera, the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall, Uniq Istanbul and the Kreuzkirche Istanbul. The roles she has already embodied include several Mozart roles, including Despina from "Cosi fan tutte", Papagena and Pamina from "Die Zauberflöte", Sandrina from "La finta giardiniera" and Gretel from E. Humperdinck's opera "Hansel and Gretel".
During her master's degree at the Anton Bruckner Private University with Kateřina Beranová, Robert Holzer and Thomas Kerbl, she worked for numerous
University productions, most recently in a collaboration with the Blackbox in the Landestheater Linz, where she successfully played the leading role of Rose in a premiere of the children's opera "Traumprinz.komm".
In the summer of 2023, the soprano was performing at the Operetta Festival at Stadttheater Bad Hall in the role of Friederike in Leo Fall's "Der fidele Bauer".
Currently Ayşe Yakut Somer is performing in Berlin with a series of Liederabends.
